The country's power facilities have come under increased strikes in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while residents in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and encountered interruptions to water systems, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a minor was fatally injured in a distinct assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has increased strikes on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from international partners to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but strong steps - from the America, European nations and the major economies - in providing air defence systems and applying sanctions," he wrote in a public message.

He said that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 missiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were striving to fix the damage.

A series of attacks struck power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the strikes on the city have been hospitalized, according to local officials.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region came under heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A young boy died and three other people were injured.

The attacks follow evenings of air raids in the area, parts of which are occupied by Russian forces.

The whole nation is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to detect.
