Chopper Twirls Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Well-Known Southern California Coast
An aircraft soaring over a well-attended California shoreline abruptly started spinning out of control, eventually dropping height and plunging into a line of palm fronds as onlookers watched.
Videos posted on the internet depict the chopper starting to spin near the shoreline then falling towards the edge of the shore, where it gets stuck amidst palms and a set of stairs adjacent to the shoreline route.
Rescue Operation Information
Local firefighters said five persons were taken to hospital comprising two who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” following the incident on Saturday.
Three people on the pavement were injured. Information on their wounds were not yet released.
The reason for the accident was still under investigation.

The department said the chopper was associated with an yearly “Cars and Copters” benefit occasion scheduled for the next day.
